I'm vegan and trying to live a zero/low waste lifestyle but dislike using digital notebooks for bullet journalling. This is the only certified vegan journal I've found that is also made of sustainable materials and is PVC free. Even the cover is recyclable but can also be degraded in compost within 10 years! The paper is super smooth and is a joy to write and draw on. I also bought their Atopens and use them with this journal. The customer service is the best I've ever experienced. I emailed them to confirm the degradable properties of the cover and also suggested the use of plant-based bioplastics for the future and sent a link of a company that uses bioplastics for products. The team at Dingbats actually took the time to look into my suggestion and said they will consider that going forward. They clearly care about the environment and are a trustworthy ethical business. 10/10 would recommend!
Overall the products are even better than expected. I bought 2 dingbat notebooks. The classic for bullet journalling and a plain one. It just took for ever to arrive due to Covid-19 mailing service delays and also one of the notebooks was just a little tiny crooked in one corner. Unnoticeable really is just that I am a detail kind of person. Again overall perfect client service from the company and best quality notebooks.
I bought three journals for myself and my daughters to start journaling in the lockdown... they are such beautifully made books which makes it such a joy to write in them... the girls are absolutely loving theirs.. I’m a bit slower on the uptake I have to confess. Would recommend them to anyone and I especially like the fact they are planet friendly.
Dingbats* Earth Lime Yasuni Journal - Dotted (A5+ 6.3 x 8.5in)
Second Dingbat journal. I use very wet nibs (FPs) and most of the time I have no issue with the paper. Some complained about the pages of the signature Dingbat being removable, but I liked it, and found they did not tear (so don't know what was happening with the peeps with torn pages.) I like the "Earth Series" less, because they put the index at the front and label everything for you -- I put my index at the back -- and I really don't want everything labeled. that. I'd tear those pages out but I can't. Boo. However, I like the cover material better, and wish the Signature series had the smoother cover and the brighter colors. I will be buying more Dingbats -- but in the duller Signture series, unless they take my suggestion!
